Workshop Description:
S.P.I.R.E. is a comprehensive and multisensory reading system.  Our S.P.I.R.E. 2-day workshop will lead you through the explicit, systematic instruction needed to develop skilled readers.  We demonstrate instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, spelling, and comprehension all within a carefully designed format based on how struggling students learn.  
Based on Orton-Gillingham methodologies, S.P.I.R.E. incorporates the most recent research regarding best practices in reading and language arts instruction.  S.P.I.R.E. is systematically structured, and follows a 10-step lesson plan that ensures students experience continuous and visible success.

Attend a two-day workshop to learn about:
Direct, multisensory instruction demonstration and practice
Providing the structure, content, and differentiation opportunities that lead to reading success
Characteristics of students with reading disabilities and their instructional needs
Correct Sound Production, Word Marking, and Syllable Division
Placing students at the appropriate instructional level
Understanding the impact of scope and sequence on skill acquisition
Assessment and progress monitoring
