Adult Competitor Registration- MN Pole Competitions
A formal and artistic pole dance amateur competition open to all that apply. *Must be 18+ to compete
Minnesota and the midwest states get first option to fill the limited-space levels (8 per level). It opens up to residents outside the midwest on November 1st.
Takes place at the Maplewood Performing Arts Theater Located inside the Maplewood Community Center.

Women's
Men's
Doubles
Different categories and levels provide a wide range of options for students and performers.
Artistic Dance: Demonstrates fusion of contempary dance styles and/or artistic, graceful interpretation of movement (more emphasis on dance).
Performance Theater: Stage presence, storylines, character, costume, and props can be used to deliver an entertaining dance piece (emphasis on story, costume, props, and character).
Pole Sport: Gymnastics and strength, displays high level of tricks and execution of transitions (less emphasis on dance and character). Pole Classic: Demonstrates long lines, flexibility, and control (more emphasis on body articulation, control, contortion, and footwear).
Amateur Competition Levels:
(All categories compete together under their chosen level)
**NOVICE:** Beginners. Dance, floor work, spins, poses, no inversions, keep hips under head while on the pole.
**INTERMEDIATE:** Dance, floor work, spins, poses, combos. Inverting from the floor and using three points of contact while inverted on the pole
**ADVANCED:** Dance, Floor work, spins, poses, combos. Floor and aerial inverting. Keeping THREE points of contact while inverted on the pole **AMATEUR ELITE** Dance, Floor work, spins, poses, combos. Floor and aerial inverting. Keeping TWO points of contact while inverted on the pole, no jumping or popping off pole from inverted position.
Winners move on to showcase at the Performing Art Festival in April.
