Leadership for Social Change Info Session
Many people have the urge to improve equity and inclusivity in their organizations. To support the many efforts already underway in our community and build upon the work begun in our successful Creating Change! Summit and Workshop in November 2014, TPS is launching a 12-month intensive learning group  with curriculum devised by nationally renowned consultant Carmen Morgan.
Please join us at an information session June 9 (6:30 - 9:30 PM, Armory Loft 3) or June 10 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, TPS Theatre4) to learn how you can use your art and institutional resources to contribute to the collective good and activate social change. Each session will include a program overview, investigation of a current topic, an interactive experience, and a Q&A with Carmen Morgan.
Leadership for Social Change is a year-long, cohort initiative that will transform our regional theatre* landscape by providing the guidance, tools, and accountability necessary for participants to implement organizational strategy and build the more diverse institutional systems and change we desire. We aim for capacity building that moves beyond posturing and data to effect real change. The power of this program is organization-level specificity. Through deep-analysis tools, participating organizations will identify their particular issues and develop an action plan tailored to their challenges and strengths.
We have contracted Carmen Morgan to help us develop our curriculum and guide our inaugural cohort. Morgan is founder and director of artEquity. As a consultant, she works at the forefront of arts equity, diversity, and inclusion issues to provide staffs, executives, and boards with leadership development, organizational planning, and coaching.
The inaugural cohort of Leadership for Social Change runs September 2016 through August 2017. We have space for 24 people (8-12 organizations, depending upon the number of participants from each).

Leadership for Social Change is a program of Theatre Puget Sound, with support from Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, 4Culture, and ArtsWA.

*Please note that all disciplines are welcome to participate as well as individual artists. We wish to be clear that our investigative lens will be specific to theatre where and when appropriate.
