We all know the story of Shahrazad; a brutal Sultan marries a woman every day and kills her the next morning. That is, until he marries Shahrazad, who begins telling stories in order to save her life and the lives of all the other women in the land.
What we don't know is that by night 989, Shahrazad is struggling to find new stories to tell. This story follows Marjan, a young, crippled woman who is brought into the palace to save Shahrazad with a new story. The only problem is, Marjan doesn't know the ending. Between the cruel, gossiping Harem girls, the dangerous marketplace and the ruthless mother of the Sultan, discovering the rest of the story before it's too late will be its own adventure.
Please join us for this beautiful tale told with Persian dance, live Persian music and even some puppetry. We will also be celebrating the Persian Culture by inviting audience attendees onstage, following the production, to join the Persian Dancing!
