Matthew Fox "Mystics in Ourselves and Others" Lecture & Book Signing
Spend an evening with this acclaimed speaker as we delve deep into Meister Eckhart, Hildegard of Bingen, and Thomas Merton as well as engage in practices to bring forth our own mystic and prophet. Along the way, you will explore the intersections of social and eco-justice and the divine feminine, contemplation and letting go, cosmic awareness, the historical Jesus, and the Cosmic Christ.  The visionary work of Meister Eckhart has had a profound influence on major voices of the 20th Century, and his creation-centered cosmology overlaps profoundly with the writings of Zen Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hahn and Dr. D. J. Suzuki who so influenced Thomas Merton. We will explore Hildegard's deep teachings about the Divine Feminine but also about standing up to church corruption and patriarchal excess wherever it is found. She was brave and outspoken in her day and challenges us to match her courage and depth in our own.

ABOUT MATTHEW FOX
Matthew Fox is an American Episcopal priest and theologian. Fox was an early and influential exponent of a movement that came to be known as Creation Spirituality. The movement draws inspiration from mystical philosophies, the wisdom traditions of Christian scriptures, and ecological and environmental movements of the late 20th century. He is the author of some thirty books, among them Original Blessing, Creation Spirituality, and Meister Eckhart: A Mystic Warrior for Our Times. His latest book, coming out in May, is A Way to God: Thomas Mertons Creation Spirituality Journey.
