Gilaki Cuisine Pop-up Lunch at Albany Taproom
Komaaj presents: Flavors of Northern Iran, "Gilaki cuisine" popup lunch, at The Albany Taproom. The dinner menu is based on a recently filmed documentary about The Gilaki cuisine, by our local chef, "Baaji Khanoom" from the Caspian Sea region of Iran. Come feast at our table, break bread with us and taste the flavors of The Gilan Province and experience the Persian hospitality at its best!
MENU
First Course - Kahoo Dalaar - Lettuce with Cilantro-Mint Dressing and Crushed Almonds.
Second Course - Maast-o-Karafs - Garlic Yogurt with Celery and Dill. - Zeytoon Parvardeh - Green Olives marinated with Pomegranate Molasses, Walnuts and Herbs. - Baaghali pokhte - Cooked Fava beans with Golpar and fresh Green onion. - Seer Torshi - Pickled Garlic.
Third course - Halu Aab - Chicken stew flavored with herbs, ground walnut and sour Orange molasses. - katte - White Rice cooked with Garlic.
Fourth Course - Komaaj - Sugar-free pastry made with Rice flour and Saffron, served with Orange syrup. - Meshgofi - Saffron and Rosewater pudding. - Black Tea - Black Tea brewed with Orange Blossoms.
