SPEEC Presents - How Do You Want It?
Are you interested in trying something new and wish you knew how to talk about what you'd like to do?
Are you opening up a relationship or "getting back out there" after years of being with the same partner?
Do you have questions about parameters for casual encounters?
Do you want to make sure you come away from your experiences feeling empowered, not full of self doubt?
Do you need somewhere to send curious friends who have lots of questions?
Join shiny and Chris for an in-depth discussion and workshop on the basics of negotiation and consent -- from the bedroom to the club, from casual encounters to developing shared expectations for ongoing engagements.
We'll talk about:
- getting real (and specific) with yourself about your desires, your needs, and your boundaries
- developing a communications toolbox to support collaborating toward the sex life you desire
- understanding, seeking, and granting consent
- deciding to include sex in a "date" (or not)
- preparing for safety to be sexy
- accounting for triggers and physical limitations
- how to work with soft limits and hard limits
- setting expectations for follow-up
...and pretty much all of your other questions!
We encourage everyone to join us, from newbie to sage. Negotiation skills never go out of style and we all benefit from thoughtful reflection on how to keep our consent game on point.
Please prepare to actively participate; there will be discussion, roleplay scenarios, and other active learning elements. And introverts are welcome! We'll do our best to ensure it won't be terrifying.
