Happily Ever After
Body & Soul Dance Theatre is the longest standing dance company in Broward County founded in 1982. They paved the way for other contemporary dance companies in the community and continue to be a leader in developing new performance techniques, collaborations with local visual and digital artists, as well as bringing dance to unexpected places to better connect with audience members. They are proud to announce their 34th season production of Happily Ever After where they reconstruct fairy tales.
This season Body & Soul will take audience members to places where magic, fantasy, and dreams can come true transforming the theater into a living fairy tale. The work that will be presented in Happily Ever After will contain original choreography that explores fairy tales and folklore from around the world. They will be presenting choreography that will not only be pleasing, but that represents these stories of our past with original costume design, digital animation, and dance steps to provide an onslaught of visual and musical sensation. They will introduce us to familiar characters with a new twist. You will see heroes, dispatchers, helpers, villains, prizes, antagonists and failures. The show will follow an original story line told to you by none other than the Magic Mirror himself as he escorts you through time, space, and mythical lands. Happily Ever After is sure to take audience members on a journey through the pages of a book sparking the imagination of our childhood.
This is a production not to be missed. Funding for this project is provided in part by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as recommended by the Broward Cultural Council. It takes place April 22-23, 2016 @ 8PM at Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center 1770 Monroe Street, Hollywood, FL 33020. VIP tickets are $50 and include priority seating, concierge service, hors doeuvres, and free beverages; General admission tickets are $30; Kids tickets will be available at the door ONLY for $12 (kids prices only available for kids 12 and under) Save $10 on admission if purchased before April 1st.
