Pain is consciousness stuck in the wrong place: be it in the body, soul, or spirit. In moving to and from a spacial understanding of pain, one can begin to objectify one of the most subjective of all experiences. Techniques will be explored for dealing with one's own pain, and for helping others learn to manage their own.
This workshop is open to everyone. Workshop begins Friday evening 7:30-9:00 pm, and continues Saturday at 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
The course will take place at the Takacs Clinic in Bothmer Hall, 5909 SE Division St., Portland, Oregon, 97206.
Workshop fee is $200 USD. (Early bird: pay by February 15th only $175 USD.)
Jaimen McMillan, the founder of Spacial Dynamics, is a master athlete and champion fencer. He developed Spacial Dynamics to give practitioners the experience of the healthy, harmonious continuum between the body and surrounding space. Spacial Dynamics employs hands-on techniques and graceful, slow motion movements to develop skill in recreating dynamics that reconnect, regenerate, and reintegrate, thus replacing dis-ease with ease. His website is spacialdynamics.com.
Dr. John Takacs' life and work have been enhanced by the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner called Anthroposophy, as well as by Spacial Dynamics, that is used to improve movement, augment exercise, and teach hands-on treatments. Currently about 75% of his practice is focused on musculoskeletal and nerve injury recovery in all age groups, car accident and work related injuries and sport injuries. Dr. Takacs has always had a special interest in holistic, natural, and alternative medical philosophies and offers those options to his patients, while keeping up on the current changes in conventional medicine.
