ALFA Winter Gala & Legacy Award
Every year ALFA presents the Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams Legacy Award to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in support of HIV/AIDS services in our local community.
This year it is with great appreciation that we present the Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams Legacy Award to Tony and Karen Rose.
Tony and Karen have been faithful members of the Hickory community since 1993, and have served on the boards of ALFA, the Boy Scouts of America, the United Arts Council, the Hickory Community Theater, and the Catawba County Economic Development Council. They have two grown children, Tony, Jr. and Jenna.
Karen holds a degree as an Education Specialist and has used her skills with Catawba County Schools advocating for anti-bullying campaigns and is involved with OutRight Youth of Catawba County.
Tony has supported ALFA since 1998 with CVMC grant funding, provided the agency with office space since 1999, and established Fairgrove Primary Health to provide treatment for HIV positive individuals. In addition, the Roses have supported ALFA through sponsoring events, collaborating on grants and through personal donations.
The evening will feature pre-dinner cash bar cocktails, holiday music, and a four course meal prepared by Executive Chef David Robbins & Chef Rick Doherr
