Wild Heart Dance is contemporary dance company based in the front range of Colorado. Created and directed by Kat Gurley, the ensemble uses dance and physical transformation as the sole vehicle for performance. For intangible beauty and unspoken truths, Wild Heart remains true to the source: that the body contains the answers, and that sensation have the the power to set the mind free. This ensemble was created in November 2013 and is in its third season of performing.
Wild Heart Dance's newest work, 'The Vulnerable Cure,' consists of three distinct parts that will be shown in various installments over the course of nine months. Each installment is designed to stand on its own as a 30-40-minute piece of intimate and gripping performance. All three installments will be combined to create a longer evening-length show as a larger performance event.
The Vulnerable Cure in all its parts is about intimacy, our individual and collective intimacy with life. Whether it is intimacy with ourselves, with others, with our environment, with our work, with our lives, we are asked to arrive with vulnerability. The Vulnerable Cure calls us to become intimately embedded in all of life's demands. By pouring ourselves into the world with abandon, longing and commitment we can live with a kind of naked autonomy that leads us to be life's most fundamental reality: love. This vulnerability to life in all its forms gives us the ability to fall in love with our own lives. The Vulnerable Cure is asking us to have a torrential love affair with our very own existence. Meaning the fact that you even exist proves beyond a doubt that the universe is so in love with you that it not only created you but gave you this: this very moment, the here and now.
Part One of The Vulnerable Cure will premiere at the gorgeous StarHouse, outside of Boulder, on the evening of December 11th. It will be an intimate, gripping evening of performance set in a very special location in the foothills, The StarHouse. The Vulnerable Cure, Part One, will be performed by Kat Gurley (Artistic Director), Hallie Bauernshmidt, Amanda Leise, and Tara Rynders.
Performances will be held at 4:30pm and 7:30pm on Friday, December 11th, 2015.
** All tickets are general admission, and there is no assigned seating based on ticket level. Choosing Silver or Gold tickets is an optional way to express your support for Wild Heart Dance.
