About The Company: The Company is a theatrical troupe comprised of students in the Del Oro High School Theatre Arts program and includes parents, faculty and theatre professionals. Its members are devoted to educating students in the theatre arts, engaging the community, and creating opportunities for students to achieve the highest standards. The Company has taken on several challenging productions including its critically acclaimed production of Les Miserables in 2014, West Side Story in 2015, and aims to top those shows the spring of 2016 with The Wizard Of Oz.
About the play: The Company and Del Oro High School Theatre Arts is "tickled to death" to present the timeless classic comedy, Arsenic And Old Lace.
This madcap dark comedy is as funny as it is famous. The elderly Brewster sisters are the town's darlings and known for their charitable work but they have a little secret!
Their nutty nephew, Mortimer, discovers they are "helping" lonely old gentlemen boarders to early graves in the cellar by the way of homemade arsenic-laced wine. Add a brother who thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt engaged in digging graves for the deceased while thinking he's digging the Panama Canal, a criminal on the run, and the worldly daughter of a minister whom Mortimer wants to marry, and you have a recipe for hilarity.
