Myla Rugge worked with students for four and a half years in the Office of Admissions at the University of Washington School Medicine. She advised applicants and assisted the admissions committee. Later she worked as an Academic Adviser in the University of Washington Undergraduate Advising Office where she specialized in advising lost, undeclared, undecided second-year students, as well as incoming freshman and transfer students. She has a BA in Communication from the University of California at San Diego and an MA in Communication from the University of Washington. Oh, and at one time she worked in Hollywood. :)
Hanako Olmer worked with students for five years at Western Washington University in Student Activities & Leadership and Academic Advising. There she advised student clubs and conducted leadership training, as well as provided general advising for undecided and first generation students. Later she worked at DigiPen as an adviser for video game programming and game designing students. And finally, she worked at Central Washington University in the College of Business where she developed academic recovery plans for at-risk students and advised business and accounting students, including prospective transfer students. She has a BA in Linguistics from Western Washington University, as well as an M.Ed in Student Affairs for Higher Education. One of her claims to fame is - she studied an endangered language spoken by less than 200 people!
