The Fattest Man in the World Falls in Love - Staged Reading
Portsmouth Theater Lab presents a staged reading of Ivan Faute's new play "The Fattest Man in the World Falls in Love."
This dark comedy tells the story of Elvin, an overweight and under-socialized young man, and Dr. Weather, an overstimulated and shortsighted therapist. When Dr. Weather proposes to study Elvin's social development, his family and her friends contribute their opinions with unexpected results. The slightly absurd and sometimes wacky play uses dance and dark humor to look at how we treat others and how our own ambitions can be used against us.
The performance will also include a reception with light refreshments and time to interact with performers and community members.
Portsmouth Theater Lab is a new grassroots group that seeks to develop performance events to encourage and develop the community of Portsmouth, VA.
