Make Your Own Rennet Free Cheese
David Asher is the author of the beautiful new book, The Art of Natural Cheesemaking. We invite you to join David for a special workshop at Alameda Natural Grocery, Rennet Free Cheesemaking.
David is an organic farmer, farmstead cheesemaker and cheese educator from British Columbia.
He regularly conducts workshops on making cheese using traditional methods and materials and that deliberately stay away from the more industrialized practices of modern cheesemaking.
In his book, he teaches you how to make cheese that is natural, DIY and suited for the home kitchen. The book is a great resource for anyone interested in the process of making cheese.
But our live and hands-on workshop is even better.
In Rennet Free Cheesemaking, the class looks at two styles of cheesemaking: lactic cheeses and heat-acid cheeses. In this class, you will learn the secrets to makinggreat Paneer (AKA Queso Fresco), yogurt and yogurt cheese. All entirely naturally.
The workshop will take place on July 31st from 7:15-10:00 pm. Space is limited to 20 people, and there will be a $15 fee to attend.
All supplies will be provided.
You can get your tickets online here: . We will have a limited amount of spaces for you to sign up in the store as well.
Again, this class has a strict limit on the number of people that we can accommodate.
