The Rise of Wholehearted Men: Exploring New Masculinities
WHAT: A space for men to take an honest look at the impacts of the culture of masculinity that we've grown up in, to share our stories, step into our authentic power, and explore deeper expressions of masculinity.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHEN: Saturday, July 11th: 10:00am-4:30pm (doors open at 9:30am)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHY: Our society teaches men to bottle up our emotions, to abandon intimacy and connection in order to avoid looking weak, and to pursue status and power over others in an attempt to affirm our self-worth. Stripped of the ability to express feelings in healthy and authentic ways, our fears drive us to become numb to the raw power, beauty and sensuality of existence. This deep disconnectedness often leads to destructive behaviors such as violence, addiction, and a need for control. What most men truly want is to feel loved, connected and alive and yet far too often we allow our shame to keep us distant, detached, and depressed.

Today, men all around the world are co-creating a new story of masculinity and discovering who we truly are by exploring the power of healthy vulnerability. We are actively working to heal our wounds from the old story of masculinity that has left many of us emotionally shut down, sensually deprived, and too ashamed to discover our true power and purpose in the world. We are leaning into our fears and celebrating our failures as we discover what it means to live a life of deep connection, purpose and fulfillment as wholehearted men. We are redefining what it means to be a man in the 21st century, starting from within our own hearts. Join us.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHO: Men and males of all backgrounds, ethnicities, sexual orientations, etc - age 18 and up - who are interested in an introductory men's work experience. Space is limited to 12 men, please register in advance.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT TO EXPECT:
**Build trust with other men through sharing our stories, connecting to our hearts and emotions, and deconstructing limiting ideas of what it means to be a man.
**Learn to courageously lean into the inherent vulnerability of exploring new and emerging expressions of masculinity that challenge old ideas and cultural norms.
**Explore your edges with healthy anger, open-hearted tenderness, and debilitating fear.
**Discover a sense of community with other men who walk the same path - who share many of your experiences, doubts, fears, and dreams. Don't be alone anymore.
**Celebrate all that you love about being a man, laugh at yourself, and discover new layers of creativity and purpose in your life.

WHAT MEN ARE SAYING:
"I could not have spent these 6 hours of my life more meaningfully; 6 hours that are sure to be the welcome foundation to a lifetime of healing that I am ready to embark upon as a man, as a human being." -Joey C.

"I am so thankful for the experience I had in this workshop. Our conversations went into vulnerable places I have never gone with other men before, and we consistently found that we could relate to each other's experiences. In addition to the sense of connection and solidarity that that brought, I found our time together to be surprising healing. Letting go of shame, connecting with what I truly love and the authentic anger that wants to be in service to it, and doing so in a group of men was a seriously empowering experience. Dan's facilitation was strong and clear. I highly recommend this workshop to any man who is open to grappling with the challenges of living a wholehearted life, who wants strength and clarity within and without, who wants to be in service to others and what he loves." -Cameron W.

"I really appreciated the workshop, and how Dan reacted to the needs of the men in the group. I was impressed how Dan was able to take a group of men and help them to deeply connect in a matter of hours. He also has an uncanny ability to tell when people have something to say and invite them to say it! The shame circle and the emotional body connection exercises were especially powerful. It was a great balance of safety and growing edge." -Glenn L.
