ELEMENTS
A juried, site-specific exhibition
at the Carl Cherry Center

The exhibition, Elements, will feature works created by five artists that are site-specific to the Cherry Center. Site-specific or Environmental art refers to an artist's involvement in an explicit locale, creating artwork that is integrated to its surroundings and explores a relationship to the topography of its setting, whether indoors or out, city, countryside, aquatic or otherwise. The term also applies to an environmental installation or sculpture created especially for a particular gallery space or public site. Regardless which approach an artist takes, Site-specific art is meant to become part of its locale, and to restructure the viewer's conceptual and perceptual experience of that milieu through the artist's intervention.

The Carl Cherry Center

The center's artistic purpose is to present exhibits and programs that are timely, engaging and attempt to cast light on contemporary issues, both aesthetic and intellectual.

Application Procedure

Starting July 1st, 2015 all submissions must be submitted and formatted as a JPEG, GIF, MP4, or MOV file.
