To coincide with the ten-year anniversary of Kiva, Jessica Jackley has written a new book, CLAY WATER BRICK: Finding Inspiration from Entrepreneurs Who Do The Most with the Least, with the foreword written by economist and New York Times bestseller author Jeffrey Sachs. Jackley will read from the book and share her personal story of co-creating this tool for social change. She highlights life lessons learned first-hand from the entrepreneurs themselves, many of them in the world's poorest countries: how a seamstress in India shows how one must be open to starting again when something isn't working; how a maker of wheelchairs in South Africa demonstrates how your life work needs to come from the heart; how a brick maker in Uganda literally made opportunities grow with nothing more than the clay under his feet.

In CLAY WATER BRICK Jackley presents illuminating portraits of these men and woman who are able to build successful businesses for themselves and their families with very little and asks us: what could we do when we have so much more?  Jackley will make you think differently about the change one person can make, and how there is an entrepreneur inside all of us. She will challenge your perception of what is possibleand how to see possibilities when others see none.

We are proud to be teaming up with Mwanzo Proud Farmers (www.mwanzo.org) on this event with a portion of proceeds benefitting this organization dedicated to creating a network of economically sustainable rural villages in the Nyanza and Western Provinces of Kenya whose economies are impacted by HIV/AIDS. Mwanzo Proud Farmers provides organizational and capacity-building support by bringing together networks of common interest professionals to partner with rural communities.
