The TotalBodyFit Running Club
Have you ever wanted to run but not sure how to do it? Maybe you worry about your form, knee pain, or being out of breath? This year is the year you can change that and we will show you how.

Come to our 1st ever TotalBodyFit running club and get more info on our ongoing running clinic. Classes schedule for this year will be May 12, 2015 - October 28, 2015

Whether you're looking to get or stay in shape, improve your cardiovascular fitness or running is a hobby to enjoy exercising outdoors, The TotalBodyFit NYC Running Club is the place for you!

You'll learn everything from proper training methods to running techniques/tips, diet recommendations, to the best suggested running gear. Becoming a member will also help prepare you for local races in the city including 5K, 10K, half marathon and the NYC marathon. The running paths and courses will be in different locations throughout the city such as areas in Central Park, East River and along the West Side. Come join us Tuesday evenings rain or shine!

To keep it entertaining we will do a different run location monthly and the locations will be announced by email.

For the rest of the month of May and all of June TotalBodyFit will donate 50% of its running club sales to Habitat for Humanity, a charity organization that helps build shelters for families in need after the Nepal earthquakes.

Another Massive Earthquake Hits Nepal
On May 12, a second massive earthquake hit Nepal only two weeks after the first earthquake that displaced 2.8 million people. To help, Habitat for Humanity is removing rubble and debris and plans to help 20,000 families with transitional and permanent shelter assistance. Your contribution to Habitat's Disaster Response Fund will help our efforts in assisting people affected by the earthquake and other disasters.
Habitat for Humanity has worked in Nepal for 18 years and has helped tens of thousands of families in need of decent housing.

TBF Running Club FAQs

What kind of programs or plans do you offer:
We offer several plans designed to let you try out the TBF running club without making a big investment as well as great opportunities to save:

Our standard single run price is $20
We have a launch promotion available with single sessions at only $10

We also offer various packages (also with launch promotion specials rates):
Buy a 4-session month (some months have 4 Tuesdays while others have 5) for $10 per class ($40 in total)
Buy a 5-session month for $10 per class ($50 in total)
Buy the whole season (25 sessions every Tuesday through the end of October) for $7 per class ($175 in total)

If you wait to purchase any of our packages after the launch promotion ends, the pricing will be:
4 session month: $15 per class ($60 in total)
5 session month: $15 per class ($75 in total)
Season: $12.50 per class ($312.50 in total)

What is the schedule:
We'll be running every Tuesday at 6 through the end of October

Where will the runs take place:
Variety is the spice of life so we'll be moving the run routes around the city. We'll look for routes that allow us to try different running styles while being as convenient as possible to our club members

Is this a good club for a beginner:
Yes! Our goal is to teach people to run in a fun and healthy format great for any level.

Is this a good club for an advanced runner:
Yes! Our head running coach is an accomplished track athlete with over 11 years of experience. He can help even the most experienced runners to get the most out of this great sport.

What happens if the weather is bad:
Our plan is to run rain or shine. However, if we determine that conditions are unsafe, we'll reschedule to another date.

How far will we run in each session:
We have an hour per session. We will always start with 5 minutes of warming up. In addition, your coach will also add various exercises during and after the main run to help build strength and improve technique. Your distance will depend on your skill level. Depending on who is in attendance, we'll offer:
A 12 minute mile route, which will cover 3 miles
A 10 minute mile route, which will cover 4 miles
A 8 minute mile route, which will cover 5 miles

What should I wear:
A good pair of running shoes and weather appropriate clothing

What if I'm coming from the office? Is there a place to change and can I secure my belongings:
Our current location starting from the NY Waterway terminal on 39th Street has a public restroom where we can change
We will provide a TBF staff member to stay at the start/finish location securing everyone's belongings

About your running coach

Oscar Kemjika is A NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Holistic Health Consultant with over four years experience. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY he has always been involved in athletics and had a passion for health and fitness. He graduated Lehman College Graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science. Oscar been running track for over 11 years specializing in both the 400m and 800m distances. His style of training encompasses cardiovascular and core strength and conditioning with specialties in weight loss, weight management, corrective exercise and injury prevention. He believes that the body is the best machine and his training methods/style embody that with little or no need for the use of equipment while executing various exercises to target all major and core muscle groups. Oscar is available for one-on-on personal training and running.

This month's location: We will be meeting at W. 39 Street at the NY waterway across the West Side highway Look for the TotalBodyFit team wearing their black TotalBodyFit T-shirts.

Time: 6pm- 7pm. Please arrive 15 minutes prior (5:45pm) to make new friends and get started at 6pm on a dot.

Price of this event: $10 (you can bring a friend for free if you buy online)
                             $15 in person

What to wear: Comfortable sneakers and your favorite running outfit.
