Alan Cumming in Concert
'When Alan Cumming turns on his beaming grin he conveys such intense, unguarded emotion you almost want to avert your eyes. That smile conveys so ferocious a mixture of desire, hurt, defiance, courage, neediness and reckless abandon that it makes everyone else seems cowardly.'
'Taking command of the stage with the ease of a vaudevillian who has been treading the boards for decades, Mr Cumming entertained with a capital E'
'A Bawdy countercultural sprite!'
New York Times.
'Forget sexy. Tony Award-winner Alan Cumming is bringing cabaret back. In the one-man show, the Scottish actor-singer unveils a naughty and comical evening. His visceral banter is balanced by his performance of kooky and mainstream songs. Yes, this irrepressible scamp has feelings. But he is first and foremost fabulous.'
Los Angeles Times.
Alan Cumming has performed to sell out audiences across the globe and will have recently completed the return to his legendary performance of the Emcee in Cabaret on Broadway for which he won the Tony and every other available award when he made his sensational Broadway debut in 1998. He will also have just completed his sixth season as Eli Gold in the CBS hit drama The Good Wife, for which he has been nominated for multiple Golden Globe, Emmy SAG, Critics' Choice and Satellite awards.
He will be joined onstage by his Emmy winning musical director, Lance Horne, and cellist, Eleanor Norton.
Alan Cumming is beyond eclectic. Beloved all over the world for his range of iconic performances in movies, TV and theatre, he is also the author of the recent New York Times best selling memoir, Not My Father's Son, an award winning recording artist and a writer, director, producer and photographer. He has appeared in blockbuster films such as X2: X Men United, Spy Kids, Goldeneye, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion as well as independent movies like Sweet Land, for which he won the Independent Spirit award and Any Day Now which won him acting honors at film festivals around the world. He currently plays Eli Gold in the CBS drama The Good Wife, and also hosts Masterpiece Mystery on PBS.
He most recently reprised his Tony winning performance as the EmCee in Cabaret on Broadway, fresh on the heels of his astounding, tour de force, one man Macbeth. He has performed in concert in venues around the world such as the Lincoln Center, NYC, the Sydney Opera House and the Vaudeville Theatre in London's West End.
For his humanitarian work and activism he has been honored by many organizations including the Matthew Shepard Foundation, the Trevor Project, GLAAD, AmFar, as well as being made an OBE (Officer of the British Empire) for his work in the arts and in the field of LGBT rights in the Queen's Honours list in 2009. His most recent accolade was the unveiling of his portrait at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery.
