Mainstreet Musicals - 2015 St. Louis Festival of New Musicals
Mainstreet Musicals is an organization committed to the development and promotion of new works before they have a theatre or producer attached. We are also passionate about decentralizing that development outside of the New York City area. Gaining exposure to new audiences across the country is crucial to the success of these writers and their work. As an affiliate city, right here in St. Louis we are presenting staged readings of the three new award-winning Mainstreet musicals, featuring directors, music directors, professional actors, and students who are all proud to call St. Louis home!
The new musicals are:
A GOOD MAN music by Ray Leslee book & lyrics by Philip S. Goodman directed by Alec Wild, music directed by Steve Neale
THE GIG music, book & lyrics by Douglas J. Cohen directed by Megan Larche, music directed by Neal Richardson
HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY music by Roger Ames book & lyrics by Elizabeth Bassine directed by Michael Fling, music directed by Charlie Mueller
The readings are taking place at Orthwein Hall at the Muny on Sunday, May 24 and Monday, May 25.
Tickets are $10 for each concert reading.
