Maine College of Art presents a conference designed to inspire conversations about the role documentation can play in helping diverse populations understand each other.  The Reggio Emilia Approach is an educational philosophy, which derives its name from its place of origin, Reggio Emilia, a city in Northern Italy. Together we will explore stories of immigrant populations in Reggio and Pistoia in Italy, as well as in Portland, Maine.

This groundbreaking look at documentation is designed for educators, school administrators, social service providers, and anyone working with communities of refugees and immigrants. Educators will earn 1.4 CEUs.

Keynote speakers are Lella Gandini, Ed.D, United States Liaison for the Dissemination of the Reggio Emilia Approach, and Susan Etheredge, Ed.D, Professor and Chair of the Department of Education and Child Study at Smith College.

Conference includes a Friday night reception with hors d'oeuvres
and light breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings.  Other meals are not included.
