On June 4, please join us for hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, and a great silent auction at Four Mile Historic Park. We will present the 23rd annual George E. Cranmer Award to the Grant Family. We will also feature a special tribute to Dan Pike, for his decades of service preserving Colorado's land and water.
Over 100 members of the Grant family have been demonstrating their commitment to Colorado for six generations. Though family members dedicate their time and resources to many worthy organizations individually, the one cause that they agree to support together is the conservation of Colorado's land and water. We at Colorado Open Lands are deeply honored to be one of the groups in which the Grants invest to achieve their goals.
Family members exhibit leadership in conservation with the following groups: Rocky Mountain Conservancy, The National Western Stock Show, The Nature Conservancy, National Trust for Historic Preservation, Denver Botanic Gardens, Mesa Verde Foundation, Denver Digs Trees, Raptor Education Foundation, Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, and Colorado Open Lands, as well as many more organizations that help fulfill our common goal of perpetual conservation of Colorado's treasures.
The Cranmer Award is named after George E. Cranmer, former Manger of Denver Parks and Improvement (1935-1947). Mr. Cranmer is credited with establishing Denver's Park and Recreation system, and was the driving force in developing Red Rocks Amphitheater, Winter Park, and many of the city's public pools.
