ARE YOU FALLING INTO THE CHORUS: MAY 9th / 2PM and 7PM
// The Chorus Is
" a living wall which tragedy draws round herself to guard her from contact with the world of reality, and to preserve her ideal domain and poetical freedom. "
Its Introduction Is
" the decisive step by which war is declared openly and honestly against all naturalism in art. "
It Gives Us
" The metaphysical comfort...that, in spite of the perpetual change of phenomena, life at bottom is indestructibly powerful and pleasurable...
the satyric chorus who live INERADICABLE as it were behind all civilisation, and who, in spite of the ceaseless change of generations and the history of nations, remain for ever the same. "
It IS
" a chorus of transformed beings, whose civic past and social rank are totally forgotten : they have become the timeless servants of their god that live aloof from all the spheres of society. "

ARE YOU FALLING INTO THE CHORUS is a new dance-work by Maya Lee-Parritz, Maddi Finkel, Shirley Dai, Sarah Kellner,
which is repetition, melodrama, or playful comedy; and it is a utopian elsewhere, abstract and far-away, but ultimately intimately familiar deep down; and from concertos, experimental poetry, pop music, and sacred harp and drones;
our grammatical body,
in time and out of order.
