Hailing from the old Chicago / Midwestern electronic music scene, Angel started as a DJ at the age of 14, and later released his first record in 1996 with his debut double-pack techno EP titled "Advanced Therapy" on DJ Hyperactives's Contact Records. Since then he has continued to sling music, landing him on labels such as Naked Lunch, Afro Acid, Impact Mechanics, Combination Research, Driving Forces, Illegal Alien, Gynoid, Spark, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Phobiq, and BoysNoize, and has also been featured on Tresor, Tronic, White Noise, International House Records, Moody and more. In 2011, Angel joined the Afro-Acid team, home of DJ Pierre, and also established two labels- D-form with partner Steve Parker and his own techno label Slap Jaxx. Also in the works are new labels Owslah Music and Patseq and artistic collaborations with numerous artists, including an album with wife Maria Goetz. Angel's music and his labels have already earned worldwide acclaim from such DJs as Dave Clarke, Ken Ishii, Dj Rush and more, and the future is sure to further establish his already lasting imprint on techno music. Angel is now a 39 year old techno fart with a mild temper. As far as he's concerned, and no matter what the trends are, techno will never die!!

<<Rees Urban, Chicago>>

Born in Detroit in 1977, Urban moved to Chicago at an early age and soon took a liking to the various sounds of underground music that the city had to offer. After years of buying records and mixtapes, he drew closer to the musical movement by landing his first job in 1994 at the Chicago record store Frequency, owned by house icon Rick Garcia. Since then, Urban has worked in several major Chicago record stores, including Hip House, which has been the home to renowned artists like Fast Eddie, DJ Jes, DJ Sneak, Angel Alanis, Halo and Hyperactive. Following the footsteps of these giants, he played banquet halls, basement parties and house parties all around Chicago and has since moved on to headline events across the United States, Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe and South America alongside notables like: Ben Sims, Bob Sinclar, Gaetano Parisio, Green Velvet, Mark Farina, Roger Sanchez and Umek to name a few. After playing at Love Parade 2000 in Berlin, Germany; Danube Rave 2000 in Linz, Austria and going on a six week tour in Europe stopping in over twenty major cities, he is a star attraction worldwide. His tour earned him a residency at Stammheim in Kassel, Germany, a top rated club there.

Very seldom do artists see success in a variety of styles of electronic music. Urban has proven to be one of the elite, gaining respect from aficionados of various genres across the industry. Over the years, Urban's style has remained uniquely his own, ranging from deep house and jackin' house to electro, techno and ghetto. As a producer and remixer, he has recorded projects for a wide variety of labels including Dance Mania, Drop Music, International House Records (IHR), Moonshine, Primate, Pro-Jex, and Tresor. His tracks have been consistently charted and played by a wide range of top DJs including Adam Beyer, Bad Boy Bill, Carl Cox, Derrick Carter, DJ Funk, DJ Sneak and Judge Jules. In addition, he's made appearances on mix CDs from the who's who in electronic music like Antoine Clamaran, Dave Clarke, DJ Dan, DJ Rush, Hatiras and John Digweed. Furthermore, Rees co-founded Bunchlox Music and started two record labels of his own, Jackinthebox and Public Housing.

On top of his production and DJing, Rees has been a successful promoter over the years doing club nights as well as one-offs bringing in international acts like Miguel Migs, Sandy Rivera, Luke Solomon, Eddie Amador and Junior Sanchez. His newest endeavor, a weekly club night called Urban's House has brought in legendary Chicago talent including Mike Dunn, Tyree Cooper, Terry Hunter, Craig Loftis, Paul Johnson, Maurice Joshua, E-Smoove, Joe Smooth and dozens more, a gathering of the upper echelon of House Music talent in Chicago. The success of this night is backed up by House Music publication 5 Magazine, North America's only monthly print House Music magazine, in which Urban is a contributing editor.

For all his accomplishments to date Urban remains humble and dedicated to his music career. As DJ Rush explains, "Urban, in my eyes, captures the culture, the excitement of the moment and is the real thing."
While many other DJ / Producers of the same level of accomplishment may be content to rest on their laurels, Urban stays constantly on the grind - DJing across the globe and producing chart-topping records - exactly what is required to remain on top in an ever-changing dance music industry.

~~~Kevy Kev (Kevin Grimm, Columbus)~~~
https://www.facebook.com/djkevykev35
https://soundcloud.com/djkevykev001
Born the bastard child of an after-bar, post-UDF bender from a bag of CheeseCorn and a Bagel with Cream Cheese, KevyKev burst onto the alt-dancefloor dj grid at the legendary Mean Mr Mustards on Ohio State campus in the mid-80s. He resided there under the mentoring eyes of music-director Earl 'Skully' Webb, and co-dj Bryant 'BJ' Johnson who taught him the ropes. Kev graduated to a downtown residency at Columbus' Wall Street Nightclub in 1988 before winning Columbus' first DJ Competition in 1990 and being catapulted to regular positions at C-Bus clubs, City Lights, 700 High, Paradigm, Mekka, Glow, and Pulse as well as Streamers in Cincinnati and Aquilon and Metropolis in Cleveland. Although originally founded firmly in the cross-genre dj world of alternative dance which included an ultimate mishmash of new romantic, punk, post-punk, disco, industrial, rap, goth, house and hiphouse, he was HEAVILY influenced by MTV golden-era bands like Depeche Mode, New Order, The Cure, The Cult, Anne Clark, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Nitzer Ebb, Psychedelic Furs and others which molded his sounded and gave way to the nightclub explosion of the late-80s/early-90s. Although primarily a DJ, he made one foray into the world of being an electronic artist with his roomate Mel 'Scorpion' Arnwine and their project Concrete Culture. They recorded their 4-track release on a Tascam 4-track cassette studio using a Kawai K-1, Yamaha DX-7 drum machine, and Alesis sequencer pedaled their wares in the pre-interent era at New York's New Music Seminar in 1989 and found an audience with Cleveland's own Alternative Press who ripped them a new buttonhole for being "synth-weak cry-baby's" in a time when they should've, "screamed about their angst instead of whining about it". A review they both still cherish and revel over seeing that it came out in the same issue as the review for little known band (and Cleveland sweetheart's) Nine Inch Nails debut 'Pretty Hate Machine'.
When the US Rave scene emerged in the early 90s he was seduced by the heavily rock-influenced sounds of breakbeat and drum 'n bass. His core sound emerged as a mix of East London breaks mashed hip-hop cut-n-scratch style with rock, rap, metal and just about anything else he could shoe-horn into a set. He met up and became fast-friends with Detroit DJ 'Boomer' Reynolds and Richie Hawtin and they played many gigs across the midwest and east coast together with close party-scene friends Dieselboy, Scott Henry, Moby, David Hollands, BT, Crystal Method, John Acquaviva, Terry Mullen and DB. He continued in that vein thru the end of the 90s before heading back to the Central Ohio clubs and cementing ties with Columbus' emerging ele-mental crew which included close friends Todd Sines, Doug 'Doughboy' Holmes, Titonton Duvante, Charles 'Monochrome' Noel, Ed Luna and others.
When the 2000's hit so did the beginnings of today's electro-house sound with the birth of Electroclash. Another mishmash of genre's, this time inclusive to electronica, house, throwbacks, remakes and updates of 80s classics, dirt, filth and synth and KevyKev was ALL in. His sets became a marriage of all things heavy incorporating post Fatboy Slim/Chemical Brothers breaks, E-clash, Disco-Punk, Electrorock and Pop-Kisch. He returned also to his original love of the Goth/Industrial sound which was also beginning to reflect a heavy-electro fat-synth and trance influence incorporated into it's original industrial electronics and began to split time as he does today between twice monthly goth nights and twice monthly electro/bass nights.
~~~KC (Kevin Cunningham, Cleveland)~~~

The DJ and Production force Kevin Cunningham, a.k.a. KC, started his career alongside Steven "Sleepy C" Cinch's production crew Psychoactive in Ohio. Kevin's precise mixing skills and turntable trickery quickly earned him a reputation of being a commodity to watch. In an effort to gain independence from the local scene which held him, he decided to migrate to Chicago where he had landed a prestigious job in the DJ Mega-store, Supreme records, located in the downtown Wicker Park area. His placement at Supreme as head of ordering for Drum and Bass served the Chicago community with a dedicated and up to date selection of import jungle music, something unheard of prior to his arrival. KC, soon after arriving to the windy city, began work on attaining production skills that rivaled most of his continental peers. (Borrowed from: http://www.zoominfo.com/p/Kevin-Cunningham/189561109)

Although Kevin Cunningham, who goes by DJ K.C., has lived in Chicago for the past three years, he got his start here in the mid-'90s, regularly spinning drum 'n' bass and house at local raves. In 1996, he linked up with Cleveland's Tik Tak to found the Baseheads crew, and the two frequently played side-by-side gigs on three turntables, with one handling the mixing and the other laying down scratches in a mishmashed fusion of hip-hop and drum 'n' bass. By 1997, the two were playing raves all over the Midwest in cities such as Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and even St. Louis. But while Tik Tak stayed in Cleveland, Cunningham moved to Chicago and subsequently started producing his own drum 'n' bass tracks. He found an early outlet for his material on Canvas Recordings, the drum 'n' bass outpost of Bad Boy Bill's Mix Connection Music empire, and has since gone on to become a regular contributor to Raw Kuts, a Rawkus subsidiary that features American drum 'n' bass producers. In the next few months, he plans to release "Fixation" on a split single with Embee and MK2 on MAD Bass Records, and "Plinko"/"Telepathy" on Chicago's Bassdrive Recordings. Both "Fixation" and "Plinko" feature harrowing ebbs of synth strings and deep, balmy exhalations that impart a type of sci-fi suspense to his minimal, driving style. Cunningham also frequently works in jazzy vibraphone keys that contrast well with his buffeting bass lines. At his last appearance at the Jungle Lounge, Cunningham displayed both a keenly developed feel for letting the bass line of each new selection eclipse its predecessor and a welcome disregard for the hardcore revivalist trend currently going around the jungle scene. You can expect the same attitude from him when he returns. (Borrowed from: http://www.clevescene.com/cleveland/kevin-cunningham/Content?oid=1477172)

~~~Zona (Walt Smith, Phoenix, Collective Intelligence)~~~
https://www.facebook.com/pages/DJ-Zona/612105212169799?ref=br_rs
I've been involved in the underground dance music scene, now called EDM, for more than 20 years. I got started djing in 1995 spinning funky house and Chicago house sounds, but found myself heavily influenced by the hip hop and rap sounds of breaks I heard throughout the Midwest and East Coast scenes of Baltimore and Philly. Soon I discovered DJs like DJ Icey and John Kelly and others that pioneered the Florida sounds and was hooked. Throughout my years of playing everything from local club nights in Columbus, OH to large scale parties and festivals throughout the Midwest, as well as producing my own events and parties with my crew Collective Intelligence, my love for the music grew. As my career grew, so did my style as I discovered the UK sounds of Nu Skool breaks from producers like Stanton Warriors and Freestylers. Again, bass heavy beats and high hat snaps and the incorporation of brass horns and vocal sampling that kept it fresh and also reminded me of my break dancing days in the 80's, is what kept me going throughout my career. By the early 2000s, the Midwest was now thoroughly involved in break beats when it was once heavily rooted in Chicago house, Detroit and New York techno and UK drum and bass scene. As a production team, we have brought together some of the biggest names in music scene and I've dj'd just about every event we've ever showcased!! I look forward to bring even more flavor to the now thriving EDM scene with a resurgence of vinyl as well as embracing the new technology, but always the latest sounds that have come out the of breaks music scene!!!
First being exposed to the sounds of electronic music in his younger days, and never truly understanding what he was listening to until attending events in the later 90s, where his passion for the sound of this 4/4 signature sound began. Ever since, falling deeper and deeper in love with this, what we all know as HOUSE MUSIC.
