Strike Out Asthma and Spare a Smile
Join us for an evening of fun at the Mobile C.A.R.E. 10pin bowling fundraiser.
Mobile C.A.R.E. Foundation's mission is to deliver no-cost medical and preventative care, education, and support to low-income children and families within their native communities aboard mobile medical clinics.
The organization's core clinics, the Asthma Vans, have been proven to keep low-income children out of the hospital, significantly reduce school absenteeism, and save lives. They also save the community money. Of patients coming to us for the first time last year, 36% had spent time in a hospital or ER for asthma in the preceding year, and 40% had missed over 5 days of school due to their asthma. Only 4% of Asthma Van kids missed over 5 days of school last year, and only 3% had to visit a hospital or ER. The difference resulted in a reduced financial burden of over $6.7 million to the local healthcare system.
This year MCF proudly adds its first Dental Van to the fleet! The Dental Van, a full-service clinic which specializes in restorative care, partners with local schools, and will serve as a dental home for up to 2,500 low-income children every year.
