Sinful Thoughts Vaudeville & Burlesque's Spring Fling
Sinful Thoughts, a western Mass vaudeville & burlesque troupe, will be performing from 8-10 at the Waterfront in Holyoke on Saturday, April 18. Tickets are $10 each or $15 each for VIP front row seating. Doors open at 7 PM, show starts at 8 PM.
Our acts include magic, comedy, music, and of course lots of sexy burlesque dancing. Never been to a burlesque show? It's like cabaret, but with more exposed skin. We'd love to show you what it's like in person, if you'll join us.
FAQs about our show:
1. Is burlesque like a strip club? NO. While we do remove clothes, burlesque dancers tell a story with their routines, and are not as focused on waving their bits in your face.
2. Is it okay to tip the dancers? YES. We don't do in-the-panties tips or anything like that, but our performers are highly skilled and enjoy when you show your appreciation by putting tips in our buckets.
3. How much of the show is sexy dancing, and how much is other stuff? We aim for around a 50/50 split.
4. Can I make noise? ABSOLUTELY. Burlesque and Vaudeville have always involved audience participation. Our MC will run contests with audience members. Our performers love to be cheered on. Our magician may ask you to pick a card. Heck, we even love it when you sing along to the songs we use. While nasty, explicit comments are not allowed, appreciative cheers of things like "take it off!" are definitely encouraged. If you're quiet, we don't know if we're doing well, so the louder the better!
5. Why do performers always have such weird names? That's also a part of historical burlesque, where names were chosen to tantalize and amuse audiences. Also, many of us have day jobs that don't know about our night life, so we'd appreciate it if you stick to using our performer names.
6. Is photography allowed? YES. We love it when folks take still pictures. After the show, you can even request pictures with various performers. You can even tag our performer profiles when you post those pictures on Facebook afterward. However, we do ask that you not take VIDEO of our performance. People pay to see us do our thing, so we'd rather that not be out there for free.
