Ghost Stories by Tiny Little Band
April 30-May 16th
Once we're lost in the dark, in the unknown, what's next? In the tradition of sleepovers and campfires around the world, TINY LITTLE BAND'S GHOST STORIES conjures a thrilling and unstable world made of childhood recollections and the deepest and most personal of memories. Guided by three performers (Dan Kublick, Emma Meltzer, and Jiehae Park), GHOST STORIES invites audiences to an eery and encompassing theatrical world where skepticism and belief collide.
TINY LITTLE BAND is the New York based collaboration between director Stefanie Abel Horowitz and writer Jerry Lieblich. TLB makes intimate, intricate pieces for small audiences, aiming to expand and invert the sensation of thought. Their performances live in deeply realized physical worlds, worlds that coil the expansiveness of the cosmos into the size of a walnut. The company aspires to performance as a full imaginative experience, one that slows down the audience's sense of time, that mirrors and draws upon the textures of consciousness and memory, that places a beating heart within a dense and tangled text.
JERRY LIEBLICH is a Brooklyn-based playwright. In addition to his work with Tiny Little Band, he is a current member of Page 73's Interstate-73 Writers Group, an alum of the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab and Smith + Tinker (HERE Arts Center), an Edward F. Albee Foundation Fellow, and is the writerly half of the devising team Tiny Little Band. His plays include D Deb Debbie Deborah (Clubbed Thumb Summerworks, Playwrights Horizons / Clubbed Thumb Superlab, Soho Rep W/D Lab), Nostalgia is a Mild Form of Grief (|the claque| Reads, Pipeline Theater Company), and Eudaemonia (not just 3 New Plays) He has been a finalist for the Page 73 Playwriting Fellowship and the Heideman Award (Actors Theatre of Louisville). He also writes regularly for Culturebot, is a published scientist, and used to work at a zoo. BA: Yale.
STEFANIE ABEL HOROWITZ is a Brooklyn-based theater maker. Her recent work includes In You? (And You!) by Melanie Jones (BAX AIR), killers by Kevin Armento (not just 3 New Plays), The Capables by Jay Stull (The Gym at Judson), and Modjeska Dispatches by Sibyl Kempson (Gershwin Hotel).
