Speaker, Chris Koch, benefiting Storybook Farm
Speaker, Chris Koch, benefiting Storybook Farm Chris Koch from Nanton, Alberta was born without arms or legs and at 35 has accomplished more than most able-bodied people have in a lifetime. His story was recently showcased on Oprah's "Super Soul Sunday," he is a devoted volunteer working with charities such as War Amps Canada, and he is a world traveler recently navigating Europe solo with his skateboard.
"I want to use my life to inspire and motivate others. I also want to give people a good laugh, too if you can't laugh at life, what can you laugh at?" Chris said.
The Hotel at Auburn University is hosting a session from 10:00am-11:00am with Chris for the Auburn business community. Tickets are $20 per person and 100 percent of proceeds will benefit Storybook Farm
With support from events such as Chris' upcoming Auburn speaking engagements, Storybook Farm is able to continually provide equine assisted activities for more than 850 children at no cost to the participating families. Storybook Farm's mission is to walk alongside children with uncertain futures and provide them with unyielding joy and hope.
Storybook Farm serves children ages two to young adulthood who face obstacles such as autism, cerebral palsy, cognitive delays, sensory integration issues and bereavement situations to name a few. Horseback riding provides physical benefits such as improvements to balance, motor skills, muscle strength and coordination. Storybook Farm is a place where children can experience the exhilaration of riding horses and where families can come together to support one another.
