Touching the Present Moment
A pioneer in bringing mindfulness to the West, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh has inspired generations of people to learn to live with more peace and joy, fully awake to the present moment.

Nominated by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1967, Thich Nhat Hanh teaches us that the way to peace is through personal transformation, and that mindfulness is the key.

On Saturday, October 24, 2015, we invite you to join Thich Nhat Hanh's community of monks and nuns at a public talk entitled "Touching the Present Moment" at 3:30pm at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. Doors open at 3:00pm. The program includes a guided meditation, chanting, a teaching on mindfulness, and questions and answers. We invite you to come learn the art of mindfulness and deepen your mindfulness training.

Please visit www.miracleofmindfulnesstour.org for more information.

"Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child - our own two eyes. All is a miracle."
- Thich Nhat Hanh, "The Miracle of Mindfulness"

About Thich Nhat Hanh:

Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh is an 88-year-old global spiritual leader, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, scholar, poet, artist, peace activist, and prolific author. His powerful teachings and bestselling writings on the art of mindfulness have reached a global audience of millions, in Europe, Asia and the Americas. He is the man Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. called "an apostle of peace and nonviolence" when nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1967, and who has been described by The New York Times as "second only to the Dalai Lama" among Buddhist leaders influential in the West. For more than fifty years, Thich Nhat Hanh has been a pioneer of "engaged" and "applied" Buddhism, applying ancient Buddhist wisdom to contemporary issues. In recent years Thich Nhat Hanh has addressed members of the United States Congress, the White House Summit on HIV/AIDS under President Clinton, the World Health Organization, the Parliament of India, UNESCO, the World Bank, and the World Parliament of Religions.

About the Thich Nhat Hanh Monastic Community:

One of Thich Nhat Hanh's great achievements has been to create a flourishing community of over 700 monks and nuns, practicing a new spirit of engaged Buddhism at the eleven monasteries he has founded in Europe, America and Asia. His community, ordained, trained and directed by the Zen Master himself, is one of the single largest Buddhist monastic communities in the world. Thich Nhat Hanh's monks and nuns come from over 30 different countries and have dedicated their lives to cultivating a path of peace, compassion and wisdom, living in harmony with one another and with the Earth. It is a modern monastic community, following a twenty-first century monastic code. Through retreats and days of mindfulness, the monks and nuns share their personal experience of training in mindfulness, concentration and insight, with everyone who comes to learn.
