Mom and Teen Daughter Writing Workshop
Hi, I'm Laura Lentz and I am a Writer's Writer, an Editorial Intuitive and is a Creative Workshop Leader who has developed a fun and inspirational workshop for mothers and their teen daughters (I also do one for adult mothers and daughters).
The Mother Daughter Writing Workshop I developed has fun and opening Writing Prompts for moms and daughter to explore their individual lives and their complicated and binding ancestral relationships.
The first moment, on the first fun writing exercise, I have the moms write for six minutes introducing their daughters in the first person, and the daughters do the same, introducing their mom in the first person. What was surprising is how this simple writing exercise broke down the barriers. Moms and daughters were surprised and felt gifted by the words that are shared in the group.
Of all the writing workshop I do, this is the most surprising and heart opening. The workshop builds a sense of community and give us a deeper connection with our mothers and daughters through the power of the written word.
Can issues come up in the writing that could result in hurt feeling? Yes and No. If moms and daughters are in the group, they already want to do something creative together to build the bond or mend the broken pieces. The truth is always freeing. I hold a safe space for the feelings that come up without judgement.
The weekend workshop is designed for all levels of writers and in an introduction to a more intensive workshop.
