"Saddle Up For Pediatric Stroke" Awareness & Fundraising Event for CHASA!
*******We are a sold out event! Thank you kindly for all your support!****
Each May is Nationally recognized as Stroke awareness month. For families of Pediatric Stroke Survivors, every day reflects the needed awareness. Associations do a good job advocating and raising awareness for stroke in adults, however pediatric stroke doesn't get nearly the attention that it deserves - there is little awareness for children and little funding for research. Contrary to what most people believe, stroke is a potential risk for everyone, including children. Our daughter Addison suffered a stroke at birth. The medical term being a Perinatal Ischemic Stroke. We had no idea the journey we were about to embark on when she was born. Many children who have had a stroke spend a great majority of their childhood getting treatments and therapies for the developmental challenges that stroke left behind. Our daughter included. It is our hope that in by sharing, we can raise awareness and enlighten all communities about stroke in children.
Along with family and friends we have partnered again this year to keep the awareness & support growing! Please join us Saturday May 9th, 2015 starting at 5 PM at The Pine Lake Community Club in Sammamish Washington for our second annual awareness event, "Saddle Up for Pediatric Stroke." Your presence and support is vital for Pediatric stroke awareness! It will be a night to remember, so grab your boots & spurs and saddle up to help us raise awareness and funds for CHASA! CHASA, (The Children's Hemiplegia and Stroke Association) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults, and families affected by infant and childhood stroke. Since 1996 they have been providing support to families just like ours. We hope you can join us for this event. We will be having a buffet dinner, dessert bar, wine/beer/soda, silent auction, live music, photo opportunities & family entertainment.
Thank you for your support!

EVENT FAQ
Is it just for families? Absolutely not, it's for everyone! We've tried to cover our bases to try and make sure that anyone would feel welcome and have a great time. Kids are welcome, and we will try our best to keep them smiling and entertained. The focus of awareness of course is geared towards adults. Kiddos are more than welcome to browse the silent auction with you, but no Monopoly money
What can we expect at the event? Doors will open at 5pm with the welcome wagon, and close roughly around 9pm. We'll have beer/wine/soda available at our optional donation bar. Feel free to bid on the silent auction, get your pictures taken, enjoy the "kiddie corral" with games & entertainment, or just sit back and enjoy the live music. The dinner buffet will open at 6 followed with more live music. We'll continue with a dessert bar as we close out the silent auction and announce winning bids. Rounding out the night we'll announce our raffle winners and shut it all down with one more band to leave a smile on your face!
What kind of items will be available at the silent auction? We can't show all our cards just yet! Our list is currently growing each day due to the in kind donations we are receiving from many businesses. We won't have a virtual catalog so you'll just have to show up to bid. We promise, there are a ton of great items!
The event isn't until May, do we have to purchase tickets now? The sooner the better! This is an advanced ticketed event with an allocated number of tickets available. In order for us to plan accordingly with food & drink we need a final headcount in advance. So yes, please purchase your tickets now.
If I can't make the event, can I donate? Yes Please! You can always make a donation to www.CHASA.org . We've also added a Donation Only ticket on our ticket site for those that feel led to contribute. We thank you!
Is there anything else I should know? We ask that you plan on bringing cash or your checkbook as we are not set up to process credit cards at this time. Checks are to be made out directly to CHASA. We have also partnered with the local Issaquah Food Bank. Please consider bringing a canned or non-perishable food donation to the event. Your name is already added to our raffle prize drawings with a purchase of your ticket, adding a donation to the food drive will get your name added into the raffle drawings again! Finally, This event is western themed. So, please feel free to dust off your boots or cowboy hats and have fun dressing the part. Don't have anything western? Purple is our awareness color so feel free to splash some color or finallycome as you are! We can't wait to Saddle up with you for the evening!
