Ancient cultures had so many jewels of wisdom. The yogic tradition is a storehouse of such treasures. In Embodying Bhakti, Raghunath explains the hidden meanings behind the ancient and popular teachings presented through the stories of the life of Krishna in the sacred text Srimad Bhagavatam, which establishes the fabric of yogic thought and lifestyle. He breaks down these fantastic stories into key points that are digestible and relevant to our contemporary world.

This weekend includes all-levels asanas, kirtan practice, meditation and study. For teachers and yogis.

Embodying Dharma: Day 1 (7-9pm)

Advanced Vinyasa workshop (1 hour): We begin the weekend learning to both practice and teach intermediate to advanced asanas and transitions.

Real Life Lessons from Krishna's Lila I (1.5 hours): Raghunath, master storyteller and student of Vedic lore tells the history of yogic philosophy found in the Srimad Bhagavatam. On the first day, Raghu introduces us to this ancient manuscript, an epic that is a storehouse of amazing tales with hidden meanings that provide a foundation of yogic thought and wisdom.

Embodying Dharma: Day 2 (8:30am-3:30pm with 1 hour break)

Advanced Vinyasa workshop (2.5 hours): Begin the day with a led practice that includes Raghunath's signature floating vinyasa sequence, advanced asanas and transitions. Instructors breakdown on how to teach advanced asanas to students of all levels.

Sacred Sound (30 minutes): Understanding mantra, Kirtan and their potency.

Real Life Lessons from Krishna's Lila Part 2 (3 hours): On the second day, Raghu takes us deeper into Krishna's life stories extracting key concepts with an authoritative explanation that allows the modern day yogi to find relevance, and understand how to apply these teachings into their real life.

Embodying Dharma: Day 3 (8:30am-3:30pm with 1 hour break)

Advanced Vinyasa workshop (2.5 hours): Begin the day with a led practice that includes Raghunath's signature floating vinyasa sequence, advanced asanas and transitions, building on the previous day's practice.

Sacred Sound (30 minutes): Continued celebration of the potency of mantra and kirtan.

Real Life Lessons from Krishna's Lila Part III (3 hours): The foundation laid on days 1 and 2 gives students the necessary background knowledge to go further into understanding the yogic wisdom of the Srimad Bhagavatam and the meaning it can have for us today.

Raghunath born Ray Cappo was a Lower East Side hardcore-punk singer songwriter icon, touring the globe in his teens. In a decadent music scene infested with hard drugs, negativity and intoxication he was an anomaly and a light propounding clean living, positive attitude and vegetarian lifestyle, inspiring tens of thousands of fans internationally. Since his youth he was fascinated with Eastern thought and took his inspiration from Emerson, Ghandi, Thoreau, The Buddhist Sutras, The Bible and the Bhagavad Gita. He started practicing yoga in NYC in 1987 with the esteemed Sri Dharma Mittra as well as Shivananada Yoga. The pettiness of the business of music and the untimely death of his father led him to India in 1988 where he dove deeper into the lifestyle and spirituality of India. He became a celibate monk at a Krishna Bhakti Ashram for 6 years where he intensely studied, meditated and lived the ancient yogic texts. In 1991 in the sacred village of Vrindavan he was awarded the name Raghunath and two years later in that same holy town awarded diksha or the sacred thread, for his study. Now, 23 years later, he's an accomplished yogi in many styles, and married with five children. He leads retreats, workshops and yoga teacher trainings around the world. He is an expert at taking the esoteric yoga philosophy and making it understandable and practical for the contemporary world.
