V-Day Stockton In Motion
A groundbreaking collection of monologues by world-renowned authors and playwrights, edited by Eve Ensler and Mollie Doyle.
These diverse voices rise up in a collective roar to break open, expose, and examine the insidiousness of violence at all levels: brutality, neglect, a punch, even a put-down.
The volume features such authors and topics as: Eve Ensler on the complacency of society; Periel Aschenbrand reflects on Imette St. Guillen; Dave Eggers on a Sudanese abduction; Edwidge Danticat on a fateful border crossing; Jody Williams on accepting a date with the wrong man; Christine House on survival instinct; Susan Miller on raising a son as a single mother; Kathy Nijimy on coming of age and defending herself; Carol Michele Kaplan on reality vs. what can be; a call to action and much more. The show presents local artists with challenging works.
The event will feature vendor booths, raffle prizes and a big ticket raffle with tickets for 4 to Disneyland and California Adventure theme parks (park hopper passes) for 3 days! Raffle ticket is $20.
