Magical Realism 101
Magical Realism is a genre of writing that borrows from the tradition of folk tales, dream-like imagery, and vivid descriptions in order to present a world in which the "magical" seems real and commonplace. In this class, we will examine the rules and elements of Magical Realism and develop strategies for effective writing in the genre. Some of these elements include the fantastical elements and the purposes they serve, a richness of sensory details as well as symbolism, and the use of legends, folktales, and historical elements, among other things.

Reserve your place now! Registration deadline is March 25. Free parking for this event in the lot across the street.
