National Heritage Area Regional Conference
Flight Reservations:
Please make your flight reservations into Anchorage, Alaska.
Car Rental:
You will need to rent a car and drive about one hour south from Anchorage to the resort community of Girdwood.
Accommodations:
For May 25, 26, and 28 (see below for May 27):
Make reservations in Girdwood, Alaska. We've secured a special conference rate for several B&B's in the area for $150/night. These are available on a first come basis. (SEE KMTAcorridor.org website for details.)
You can also make reservations at the Alyeska Resort Hotel. Rates start at $249.00 for double occupancy. Breakfast is not included, but there are restaurants on site. 800-880-3880
For May 27: We will be taking the train from Girdwood to Seward on May 27 and spending the night. Make reservations at the Seward Windsong Lodge. 1-877-777-4079
Let Windsong know you are with the KMTA Conference. Conference rate ranges from $135 to $189/night. We'll be leaving rental cars in Girdwood overnight and returning the next day (May 28) via motor coach. While in Seward, we'll enjoy touring several historic sites and later in the day, take a dinner cruise to Fox Island.
NOTE: If some in your family will NOT be joining us in Seward, you will need to make hotel/B&B reservations in Girdwood (for the family) AND in Seward (for you) for May 27. We recommend bringing the family though. The trip is spectacular.
What to bring: Late May is a great time to visit Alaska. The daylight hours stretch nearly round-the-clock and spring is in full bloom. It can still be cool however, so plan to bring fleece and rain jackets to stay warm. Comfortable walking shoes are a must.
