The Vagina Monologues
The award-winning play returns to Salem after a successful run in 2014. The Vagina Monologues is based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace, the piece celebrates women's sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives. For more than a decade, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public and brought a deeper consciousness to the conversation around ending violence against women and girls.
This year's cast is comprised of a diverse group of women from Salem and the surrounding communities. After an incredible round of performances in 2014 we are very excited to reunite for another Vagina Monologues season. While none of us are professional actresses what we do share is a common passion for women's issues. All of us have found ourselves personally impacted by the message of this production, because of this it is our pleasure to share this message with you.
The Vagina Monologues is emotional, funny, honest, and powerful. The potential it has to inspire hope and to heal keeps us coming back year after year.
