Growing Vegetables For Health, Quality, and Profit - A Season Long Series
Learn about profitable, small-scale vegetable production throughout the 2015 growing season at Brix Bounty Farm.  Participants will see and experience how Brix Bounty's production evolves from early season fertility and plant propagation to mid-season management and fall harvest rhythms.  The workshops will focus on the practices and key information essential to grow and sustain this commercial farm. Each workshop will build on information presented in previous sessions.  Attendees are highly encouraged to register for the full series.

Workshop 1:  March 29 - Finding Your Niche and Honoring Your Passion: Crop Enterprise Budgets; Planning the Season; Greenhouse Seedling Production; and "Bio-Builder" Field Sprays - a focus on alliums, lettuce, and tomato starts in the greenhouse.

Workshop 2:  June 14 - Fertility Foundations: Dry Mineral Applications & In-Season Management (Crop Monitoring, Water Management, and Foliar Sprays) - a focus on alliums, lettuce, and tomatoes.  (Includes discussion on lettuce harvest and post-harvest management, allium varieties and distribution schedule throughout the season, and tomato succession management)

Workshop 3:  September 13 - Enterprise Analysis & Profitability and Fall Fertility Practices Including Soil Analysis  - a focus on alliums, lettuce, and tomatoes.  (Includes season extension with late blight resistant tomatoes, downy mildew resistant fall lettuce varieties, and leek harvesting efficiencies)
Brix Bounty Farm, founded in 2008, produces 5+ acres of vegetables marketed primarily on the farm, through summer and winter CSA and an honor system farm stand.  Growing practices emphasize investments in fertility improvements to produce nutrient rich vegetables.  The farm established new roots in 2014 on a 10-acre footprint within a larger APR protected farm in Dartmouth, MA.
