An email went out April 2 about logistics. It is below here. If you have any questions please email, call or text Laura @ 206-349-0643 or laura@happycounts.org Hi Seattle Mindfulness Attendees This is the last email to go out, unless there is urgent information. We have our mindfulness retreat with Robert Beatty at Nalanda West (3902 Woodland Park Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103); April 4 and 5 from 9-5 both days. Please note: Lunches will be pot-luck style both days. Please bring something to share that does not require heating. (Vegetarian and gluten free preferred). We will need people to help with set up and clean up both days. Kathleen is coordinating this (this will all be explained at the retreat). There will be a table in the dining area for placing your food, and there are refrigerators in the kitchen Cushions and chairs: There are cushions and chairs, but do bring your own if you are more comfortable with it. The room will be a bit chilly to start the day, so bring a cover if you need it. If anyone wants to come early the first day to help set up the chairs and cushions, please do! Paying at Door (for those who have not paid yet): Please bring check or cash if you can not pay online with brownpaper tickets. Check made out to Happiness Initiative for the venue costs are okay. (Please remember this is cost is for venue only). Dama: A dama is not included in the venue ($40 or $20 payment). The $40 both days /$20 one day covers only the basic costs to have the retreat. This means the teacher is not paid out of the registration. There will be an explanation of dama during the retreat. Our room: Enter the Nalanda West Center front door. You will see the dining hall straight in front of you. Go through the little door to the left of the dining hall into the court yard and enter the building on the other side of the court yard. Seattle Mindfulness Retreat with Robert Beatty
Join Robert Beatty of Portland Insight Meditation Center for a weekend retreat on April 4 and 5 at Nalanda West in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle.

This will be the first retreat Robert has taught in Seattle in many years. He intends to help create a community in the Seattle area for those who resonate with his way of teaching Dharma.  Robert will be teaching retreats twice a year at the Nalanda Center.

Robert's teaching is based upon the Noble Eightfold Path of the Buddha. Its purpose is to improve the lives of participants, their families and the greater community through meditative practice and a lifestyle that supports liberation from suffering, the awakening of wisdom, and the manifestation of compassion.

Scholarships: During the online registration process participants will be invited to contribute to a scholarship fund.  As funds are available, scholarships will be provided. Use contact form to inquire.

Please bring a potluck lunch to share.
