Project Flux Dance + MING Studios
Since its premiere in 2013, Project Flux has established itself in the Boise dance community with strong influences on gestural movement, along with fusing classical technique with improvisational tools. They have collaborated with many local artists and companies including Ballet Idaho, Boise Dance Co-op, Off Center Dance Project, Focus Dance Ensemble, Treefort Music Festival, and Boise State University's Summer Dancefest 2014.
They open the year with a new collaboration, this time with MING Studios, bringing dance into a non-traditional performance space. Opening January 15th, Project Flux invites you to experience the company's newest work "You ___ not _____.", in the intimate space of MING Studios, located on the corner of 6th St. and Myrtle.
"This is a true passion project for me", explains Project Flux Director, Lydia Sakolsky-Basquill. "I have always been interested in bringing dance outside of the theater. This new work is based off of one simple concept: the hug. The dancers and I dug deep into what lies beneath different hugs and the relationships attached to them; the stories that can be told, and emotions that can be felt when looking beneath the surface."
