The American Avant-Garde
Julia Child created a shift in American dining habits after publishing her cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Explore the evolution of dining habits in the mid-20th century while discussing the changing trends in French and American art as seen in LACMA's permanent Modern Art collection. Then, head to the Surfas test kitchen in Culver City to cook a meal inspired by her seminal cookbook.

Please note that though this class meets at LACMA is it not LACMA organized.
