The Dave Stryker / Eric Alexander Organ Quartet
Dave Stryker -voted one of the Top Jazz Guitarists for the last several years in Downbeat Critics and Readers Polls. JazzTimes: Stryker is a perfect combination of accessible grooves, melodic expression, blues feeling and soul with gospel-like joy throughout. Surging through Daves assorted gifts is his unique strength... a rare rock-bottom groove that can sometimes top todays jazz complexity sweepstakes.
Eric Alexander tenor jazz saxophonist is known for his sophisticated hard bop and post-bop style. Critics claim listening to Alexander, unfettered and at length, is one of the greatest treats in jazz. Erics imposing improvisation seems to have no boundary. One of the few players who is more influenced by Dexter Gordon and George Coleman than by Coltrane and Rollins... He takes his heroes seriously and it has certainly paid off !
