Marc Ribot Master Class

Marc Ribot will lead a 2-hour master class from 2-4 pm. The class is not limited to guitarists, but is open to all interested musicians. Ribot has worked with Elvis Costello, Marianne Faithful, Tom Waits, Arto Lindsay, Don Byron, Anthony Coleman, T-Bone Burnett, the Jazz Passengers, Evan Lurie, the Sun Ra Arkestra, Chocolate Genius, Bill Frisell, Medeski Martin & Wood, and John Zorn and many, many others. He created his own brand of Downtown soul music with his bands Rootless Cosmopolitans and Shrek, and interpreted the music of the great Cuban songwriter Arsenio Rodriguez and Albert Ayler. He has written film scores and music for many dance pieces. His Brecht Forum-commissioned "Exercises in Futility" was premiered in December 2006.
