VSA Arts of Orange County Spring Concert and Fundraiser
VSA Arts is an international nonprofit organization founded in 1974 by Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith. VSA arts mission is to create a society where people with disabilities can learn through, participate in, and enjoy the arts. Come enjoy an afternoon of entertainment and fun while supporting VSA of Orange County so that it may continue to provide arts programming and opportunities in your community!
Marleena Coulston is a legally blind singer, who has been active in promoting positive disability awareness through most of her young-adult life. In addition to directing Braille Institute's Johnny Mercer Children's Choir, she has performed throughout Southern California in various musical theater productions, festivals and concert venues. Her one-woman cabaret show, titled "Thank You for the Music," tells the story of her life growing up as a visually impaired individual and how music played a vital role in the journey to believe in herself.
Hi Hopes is a performing group of professional musicians with developmental disabilities with phenomenal talent. Founded in 1972, their repertoire includes over 400 songs of patriotic, rock and roll, love ballads, Broadway show tunes, Disney songs, country western and religious music. The group has performed throughout the United States, has been featured on numerous television shows and in Time and People magazines.
