MOHAI screen's the independent film, Butte, America: The Saga of a Hard Rock Mining Town. Acclaimed by writers Ivan Doig, Rick Bass, Tom McGuane and others, the film tells an intertwined story of this urban-industrial island on the American frontier and America's own industrialization. Capturing the lives of the miners, their families and the community as they faced hardship and danger, the film touches on issue of organized labor, the Irish immigrants who came in great numbers, the role of women and the environmental devastation. The strong loyalties within the community thread the narrative. Narrated by acclaimed actor Gabriel Byrne, the film is a deeply moving human tale.  Producer/director Pam Roberts and writer Edwin Dobb will speak following the screening.
