Little White Lie + Q&A - ADIFF NY 2014
Wed, Dec. 3 @ 6PM - The Chapel

"Growing up unselfconsciously Jewish and Caucasian in the leafy, largely white town of Woodstock, New York, Lacey and her extended family cheerfully explained away her tawny complexion by pointing to a picture of her father's swarthy Sicilian Jewish grandfather. But her parents' fraying marriage and her own nagging doubts compelled the bright Georgetown undergraduate to begin tugging at the threads of her identity, fearlessly documenting the unraveling of family mysteries. Little White Lie manages to be both a particular family's story of the price of living in denial, but also raises larger questions for us all: What factorsrace, religion, family, upbringingmake us who we are? And what happens when we are forced to redefine ourselves?"-Peter L. Stein  Directed by Lacey Schwartz, 2014, 65 min, United States, Documentary, English

Shown with A Small World
US Premiere
Shane is a young man recently released from prisn and back living in his old neighborhood. Whilst clearing his room he finds an old pair of roller skates and, filled with nostalgia, gets straight on them. Being slightly overconfident he collides into Shelly, is knocked off his feet and falls in love. However skeletons  from both sides threaten to ruin their relationship and when Shelly's mum invites Shane round for dinner, it is apparent that those skeletons are about to be revealed. Directed by Esthoseia Hylton, 2013, 22 mins, UK, Short romantic drama, English.
