COMMUNITY MUSIC WORKSHOP AND GATHERING WITH ALASDAIR FRASER

9AM - 4PM LUNCH INCLUDED, SESSION AFTERWARDS, BRING YOUR OWN BEVERAGES.

Explore playing traditional music in a group, with emphasis on arrangement ideas and the techniques that give traditional music its particular flavor. We will look at the elements of language and dance and how to put fiddle tunes together to form a medley or a larger piece of music. Teaching will be geared towards intermediate to advanced musicians but enthusiasts of all levels are welcome to attend. Beginners will be encouraged to participate at their current level of ability.

Note: Alasdair Fraser, master Scottish Fiddler, who has inspired and encouraged countless aspiring and accomplished musicians, will hold a special one-day workshop for players of violin, fiddle, viola, cello, guitar, flute, whistle etc based on the fiddle music of Scotland and beyond.
