MY NAME IS SEVDALINKA - ZOVEM SE SEVDALINKA
Foster High School Performing Arts Center Tukwila, WA
"My Name is Sevdalinka - Zovem se Sevdalinka" is a story of Bosnian college girls who migrated to the USA as children with their parents in the 1990's from their war-torn home country. In a search for identity, they dig into the refugee suitcases of their parents and discover old family pictures, keys to their old homes, their first toys, and also traditional dances and Sevdah - the traditional Bosnian love songs often compared with American Blues, Spanish Flamenco, Portuguese Fado, and Greek Rembetika.
