Description
BACK FENCE PDX, MORTIFIED and TRUE STORIES join forces once again (after the successful Word to Your Mother event last Spring) for WORD TO THE WISE(MEN) -- a night of TRUE tales all about the cheers, tears and burning ears of all that is the holidays.

Hosting the night is the hilarious ADAM SHEARER of WEINLAND.

Special music guest JOHN RODERICK from THE LONG WINTERS will rock some solo music.

Hanukkah Elfettes clad in retro-inspired POPINA Swimwear, and ROSABODE Aviator Caps will hand out free SAINT CUPCAKES to the audience.

If you're worried about coal in your stocking, bring a new, unwrapped kids' book to donate to the Children's Relief Nursery.

Doors, food and drink at 6:30PM, show at 7:30PM. Tickets are $12 online, $15 at the door.

Tickets and information on the performers at www.wordtopdx.com.

MORTIFIED stars everyday people reading aloud their most embarrassing, pathetic and private teenage diary entries, poems, love letters, lyrics and locker notes in front of total strangers.  Witness personal redemption through public humiliation in a refreshing show that is equal parts comedic, cathartic and voyeuristic.

BACK FENCE PDX is an evening with seven people telling true, unmemorized, eight-minute stories based on a theme. Hosts Melissa Lion and Frayn Masters present these true tales of missed connections, strip clubs, crazy love, odd religious upbringings and more at the Mission Theater in Northwest Portland.

TRUE STORIES is a memoir and music series that specializes in humor and humiliation. It was started in 2007 by Marc Acito and Courtenay Hameister so they would get some shit written, goddammit.

NOTE: No one under 21 years old will be admitted.

Notes
