The Oakland Bay Area Community Chorus a multicultural concert choir, continues its mission "...To preserve the traditional African American spiritual by ensuring that this important music form continues to be performed with authenticity during a regular concert season." The Chorus will perform the Spiritual as it was sung by the historic Black College Choirs. Traditional Christmas carols are also included on the program, including The Christmas Story, composed by Roger Wagner with narration and organ accompaniment. William (Bill) Bell a multifaceted musician, well known in the Bay Area and nationally is the director of OBACC. Bell also known as the Jazz Professor, is a recording artist, choral director, composer and musician extraordinaire. Loni Williams, Assistant director, is a Gospel Specialist known in the Bay Area and Europe for her unique contribution toGospel music as singer, pianist and workshop leader.
